Edmunds posted a great article last year that features some interesting facts about the Scion FR-S that you may or may not have known about. Check them out below, and if you're interested in this car be sure to shop our online inventory here!
1. It feels incredible
Edmunds compliments the FR-S' control, chassis, power, steering and brakes in particular.
2. It has a Torsen limited-slip differential
This gives it progressive engagement.
3. There's solid evidence a turbo is coming
We still haven't seen confirmation of this -- but we'll keep you in the loop!
4. It has an ultra-low center of gravity
Considerably lower than Porsche's Cayman, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and Subaru STI,
according to Edmunds.
5. It uses Prius tires
Fun fact! These are used for the "modest grip" and "stunning balance,"
wrote Edmunds.
6. It has a low drag coefficient and minimal weight
For a better EPA mileage rating and better exhaust note.
7. A convertible isn't likely
Although it is possible -- we'll keep you in the loop here as well.
8. A stripped down model is likely
This will be sold in Japan but not in the USA, so it doesn't apply to us much here.
9. It had serious benchmarks
The Porsche Cayman being the main one, which was emulated by using a centralized mass, low center of gravity and linear control feel,
according to Edmunds.
10. Its suspension setup is different from the Subaru BRZ
This is mostly because both companies have different preferences and strategies.
